Identical twins, Misty & Kristy, created “Echoing Praise” Worship Dance Ministries.
Kristy co-built our Performing Arts Studio in 2001 and Misty is our expert videographer.
A Message from Kristy:
Since childhood, we felt called to minister God’s awesomeness through dance, but on a church camping trip, we got Lyme disease and I couldn’t even walk! Misty was rushed to the cardiac ward from school. Dance seemed like a lost dream! But today, we’re even stronger in spirit because of what we went through.
It doesn’t matter what’s in your past, God has special plans for your future! We are ALL called of God. Never give up on His plans! Life is not about how to survive storms, but how to dance in the rain!
A Message from Misty:
Matt. 5:16 says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” This verse came to life for me after reading a true story of Martin Luther. During a hard time in his life, his wife came to breakfast dressed in mourning clothes, saying God was dead! When he told her that was ridiculous, she asked why he was acting that way then, and being so discouraged?!
Our life should echo what we believe. Peter denied Christ by saying he didn’t know Him. We deny Christ today by failing to present Him in all areas of our life as our Awesome God… & all-consuming passion! When others see our life, they should desire to know Him more.
Misty & Kristy grew up writing song lyrics and music – sometimes on school napkins! They began “visually illustrating” their songs for church worship and school performances. God provided scholarships for professional dance training, starting from 8 yrs. old, at the highly acclaimed Conservatory of Movement in Reno, NV. Achieving “Highest Honors” and “Distinction” for each Royal Academy of Dance, London, UK annual exam, they were frequently invited to dance with the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, performed often with the Dance Majors at the University of Nevada, Reno, and took first place in many performing arts competitions, including KAR and Broadway Bound. The twins were chosen to represent America when “Dance and the Child International” came to the USA, performing with dancers from all over the world at the University of Utah.
November 2006, they were invited back to NV to participate in a weeklong Choreographer’s Forum – taking master classes and dancing with internationally known professionals, including the Kahurangi Maori Dance Company of New Zealand.
In 2007 & 2008, they took their dance team to the International Worship Symposium in Pasadena, CA. They attended the world-renowned Mimeistry School of Ministering Arts, now Innovo Physical Theatre, & were honored to perform with them for the thousands of conference attendees at the Symposium.
Years of in-depth training provided knowledge and skill, but their passion comes from a personal relationship with Christ. They love using their training to “echo praise” to Him!
